" Each year, the Diversity Visa Lottery, as it is officially known, provides up to 50,000 randomly selected foreigners — fewer than 1 percent of those who enter the drawing — with permanent residency in the United States."

Just read that a couple times and let it sink in. Is it just me or is this so crazy on the surface I can't believe it's real. This is Codified russian roulette with the gun pointed at the heads of American citizens and America's national security. It's like having a drawing for random sex partners.

I never heard of this before last night and today I simply can't believe this has been going on in our country.

I think we need to look at any office holder that supported or voted for this madness. Name the names now. The American people need to know who would support such lunacy.

More than 14 million people - maybe.
Around the world? Nope, English folks like me are barred from taking part. Racist or what?

“It’s hard to kill because it works to add 50,000 Dem voters every year.”

Multiply that by 10 with chain migration.

Exactly. This is utter insanity. Before this happened, I never heard of this program.

The media loved it, but did not advertise it. It is profoundly subversive and stupid.

Millions highly desirable people want to come to the U.S.

WE ignore them to bring in third world types.

I don’t know about Canadians, but I did meet an Irish bloke who told me he entered it on a dare as the result of a pub bet, and was surprised to win.

Once he did he figured he may as well come.
Not your classic Ellis Island tale, is it?

It's been going on since 1965.

Interesting story. My post was a little awkwardly worded (multitasking, lol), but I meant to say that Canadians were not allowed to participate when I checked back in the 1990s and I wonder if they ever were. At the time, I recall some silly character at the barber shop I went to back then going on about how he knew someone who entered the lottery and figured all Canadians could, but as it turned out the wife was of a different nationality so therefore that person probably entered using his wife’s birth citizenship from another country that was allowed.
