America is comfortable for most people even those who have it rough- case in point I was talking with the lovely couple who have immigrated here from Sri Lanka and I was asking them questions about it. The topic of there civil war came up and they explained how brutal it was. Then we were talking about lifes difficulties and getting through them and it came out that as a child the wife had to walk over around dead bodies on the way to school. Come again I said. Well we had a couple of snow days i replied. Both of them love it here and are prospering - I suspect they voted for Trump as well.
Yes, they appreciate America and will be/are assets to our society.
