WSJ editorial board calls for Mueller's resignation and accuses Clinton and DNC of collusion
Business Insider ^ | 10-28-2017 | WSJ Editorial Board

Posted on 10/29/2017 12:20:34 PM PDT by NRx

The Wall Street Journal's editorial board called this week for a full Russia investigation — not into President Donald Trump, but into the Democratic party, the FBI, and special counsel Robert Mueller.

"It turns out that Russia has sown distrust in the U.S. political system—aided and abetted by the Democratic Party, and perhaps the FBI," the editorial began. "This is an about-face from the dominant media narrative of the last year, and it requires a full investigation."

The editorial argued that a Washington Post report published Tuesday "revealed" that Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee hired the Perkins Coie law firm, which in turn retained the opposition-research firm Fusion GPS and funded a now-infamous dossier containing salacious allegations about Trump's ties to Russia. The dossier was compiled by ex-British spy, Christopher Steele, who has several deep Russian sources.

"Strip out the middlemen, and it appears that Democrats paid for Russians to compile wild allegations about a US presidential candidate," the editorial said. "Did someone say 'collusion'?"

If this were the 1950’s......that’s exactly who they would be. And appropriately. Some of that may wind up being used in Iranian and/or Russian weapons. Or at least it wouldn’t surprise me.

Wow...the WSJ editorial board has found something more distasteful (in their eyes) than Trump.

I find it interesting that “Who” Mueller’s pending indictment names, has yet to be leaked.

I’m thinking that we may not find out on Monday.

Do NOT trust the motives of the WSJ.

They are NOT ON OUR SIDE!

I am thinking that the uranium was "offered" to Putin.

Just a hunch, but I can't see Putin begging for 20% of our uranium.

It had to be offered to him.

Two other Freepers guessed correct!

Nicolae and Elena Ceaușescu.

Nicolae was one of the last iron rulers of the Stalinist Era (Roumania). He and his wife Elena were executed on Christmas Day in 1989. The fall of his regime was astonishingly fast. Just a few days earlier, he tried speaking to a massive crowd in Bucharest in an effort to quell the uprising against him with the usual Communist platitudes but eight minutes into his speech, the crowd turned against him and he had to seek shelter.

That whole period was quite a time to live through. The fall of the Berlin Wall, the disintegration of the Soviet Union and we even almost had the Communists overthrown in China. The legacy of Ronald Reagan was sealed with those events.

I also canceled my long time subscription to the WSJ last summer due to their Never Trump stance. Since then they have gotten rid of Stevens from the editorial group. I have also noticed an improving attitude from another editor Henninger when he appears on Fox. Now this editorial to remove Mueller from his investigative duties. All of this is noted for future reference. We will see if WSJ can earn their way back into my mailbox.

They’re calling for an investigation to clear Hillary and the rest. Also, it shows bipartisan media coverage. All for show.

Thanks for the facts. I enoyed many aspects of the WSJ, but there were one or two story threads that pushed me over the edge. Time will tell.

And to think that Bret Stephens was on the WSJ Board and in line for leadership.

I am so proud of fellow WSJ commenters who hounded his sorry ass out of the place. Another bullet dodged.
