An HIV-positive man who worked at a middle school allegedly sexually assaulted more than 40 children, intentionally trying to transfer the virus to five of his victims, officials said Monday.
Carlos Deangelo Bell, a 30-year-old man from Waldorf, Maryland, who worked as a teachers aide and track coach, was arrested in July and was believed to have victimized 24 underage children at that point.
Bell is now accused of assaulting 42 juveniles, according to a Monday report from the Charles County States Attorneys Office that released new details discovered during a police investigation over the past few months. Altogether, he now faces 206 counts on various sex abuse charges. He is accused of targeting victims from the ages of 11 to 17.
According to Fox News, he targeted his victims at Marylands Benjamin Stoddert Middle School, at his home and possibly at other locations between May 2015 and June 2017.
Despite being HIV-positive, he did not use any protection while assaulting his victims, CBS News reports.
He is being charged with five counts of attempting to transfer the virus, according to Charles County States Attorney Tony Covington.
The Charles County States Attorney Office said in a statement that it is not aware of any alleged victim having tested positive for human immunodeficiency virus.
The state of Maryland is seeking a life sentence.
and it dawned on him: “If only I taught in California....
How did he get away with this for two years?! As for punishment, he should be hung in the public square and his body left to rot.
Maybe the Demwits should turn their inquiries to someone who is truly mentally ill
Like their homosexual constituencies
AGREED!
100%.
Maryland had that HORRIBLE sex education with things didn’t even know at their schools.
This mere life sentence-seeking disaster brought to you by former governor Martin Owe’Malley, who helped get rid of the death penalty in Maryland.
Thanks, Martin Owe’Malley.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
That’s too fast.
Just leave him tied to the stake. Fence it off under guard and let nature have it’s way. Keep him hydrated for laughs.
Two observations (based only on the information here):
#1 - victims, were they male or female, or both? Generally, when the media fails to identify the gender of the victims, they are usually the victim of homosexual assault...
#2 - Good thing this wasn’t California - where the intentional attempt to infect someone with HIV is no longer a crime...
Burning at the stake would definitely be more satisfying - but alas, is not one of the handful of protected/SCOTUS-approved methods. Hanging would be fine in this case.
OF course it SHOULD be - but won’t be.
But the crimes he committed while trying to transmit the disease - that itself should be grounds for public hanging...
