I know a famous scientist who read the Bible for several years and eventually believed. Realizing he needed a church but not knowing any Christians personally to assist him, he devised a scientific approach to finding one.
He identified all the Christian churches within a twenty-mile radius and visited each on a series of Sunday mornings. He didn't go inside; rather, he observed the congregants from his car as they exited, which enabled him to observe several each Sunday; and he evaluated the churches based on two criteria: were the departees carrying Bibles, and did they appear happy?
