An online database launched Wednesday singles out churches opposed to homosexuality ostensibly to encourage clarity in whether various churches support LGBT lifestyles.
The database, called Church Clarity, scores churches on whether they are clear or unclear in their message of being affirming or non-affirming toward LGBT relationships. Church Clarity takes aim specifically at evangelical churches and accuses them of having a dangerous capitalist mindset and of being purposefully unclear in their policies toward LGBT relationships .

A database with 39 churches in it? I’d say they have their work cut out for them.

I live in a very leftist suburb that features,in the Town Center,a “church” with one of those big rainbow flags.IIRC it’s Lutheran,Methodist or one of those other atheist denominations.

Probably United Methodist.
I've walked out of a number of services in several Methodist churches before I left Methodism for good ...

A database with 39 churches in it? Id say they have their work cut out for them. And they're all within 20 miles of San Francisco.

By the grace of God, our church is a clear non-affirming church. As long as they behave themselves, members of the LBQT community would be welcome to come to our worship services but they shouldn't expect us to accept their lifestyle as anything other than sin. Give us some advanced notice and I'm sure our pastor could prepare a sermon on Romans 1 (but the LBQT community wouldn't like it).
We'd be capitalists too but our church doesn't take a formal position on that issue.

I lot of Bible believing Christians have always wanted this type of tool.
Now that the LGBTQs have come out in support of such a database, it can’t be considered intolerant or politically incorrect if Christians use the same information or create similar databases.
It’s sort of the same thing in politics when a big labor union endorsees a local candidate. You know that’s one to avoid.

The tipping point will come when Pope Francis takes the Catholic Church in this direction (which is almost certain as he surely does not want to be accused of having a "dangerous capitalist mindset".) That's the whole subtlety of the RCC. They may have some official stance against it for those who want the church to be against it but with all the virtue signaling you will find that a very large percentage of RCs are already quite ok with gay marriages. I certainly know of some who have even attended such "weddings"(spit).

They might as well set the classification as “biblical” or “unbiblical.”

I used to be a certified lay speaker on the ministry track, then I made the mistake of being honest with my DS about my theological conservatism. Shortly thereafter, my letter of sponsorship and support from my home church was withdrawn by my new liberal Pastor. I haven’t set foot in a UMC church since.
To: missnry
Not much of a database. I looked and there and only a handful of churches are listed nationwide. A few in my state and thankfully they’re all biblical (”non-affirming”.)

If promotion of same sex relations is the highest priority for your church, then you probably belong to a sex cult and just don’t realize it.
