we are losing the SOLID foundation of young people...
too many mamby pamby school courses, too many drugs, too many put downs of the values of a strong and robust society...hard work, obedience to parents, following the rules..
being a valedictorian used to mean something...as in, you took the difficult courses and succeeded...
now everything has been dumb downed..
kids that would have worked hard to become doctors now just slid into liberal arts and law school....
Very well said!
Many talented people shy away from field where a huge investment of time and money can be undercut by politicians importing foreigners to deflate wages. For pilots in particular, it is hard to ask someone to commit to something that requires so much training when something as simple as a vision problem shortly afterward ends your career.
I’m an engineer.
I would not recommend to most kids. It is difficult, doesn’t pay as well long term as other jobs, and is not a “high status” profession.
Now, if you are the wrong sex or color, getting a seat at an engineering school is difficult.
