(CNN)George W. Bush doesn't talk much about politics in public. Which makes the speech he gave Thursday in New York City -- a point-by-point rejection of Trumpism -- all the more important and noteworthy. The 43rd president of the United States -- and the last Republican to hold the office before Donald Trump -- didn't mention the 45th president by name in his speech at the George W. Bush Institute. But Trump -- and his views -- were ever-present in the former President's address.
Bush condemned "nationalism distorted into nativism." He derided "discourse degraded by casual cruelty." He acknowledged that "our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication." And, most importantly, Bush said that "bigotry seems emboldened."

Stay out da Bushes!
Liberals now love GW after reviling him for 8 years because he’s now attacking Trump.
History comes full circle.
Yes, NEVER! Nothing about Obama, ever. Gutless politician. Says it all.
W is quoted regarding criticizing Obama back in 2015...
Excerpt from article:
Bush has made a habit out of almost never attacking Obama in public, even when prodded by reporters to do so. In a Fox News interview last year, Bush said he felt such barbs would be damaging to the presidency.
“I don’t think it’s good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president,” he said at the time. “I think it’s bad for the presidency for that matter.”

So it appears his thinking has “evolved.”
Wonder if something in the upcoming JFK document dump is upsetting him?

Time for disclosure on 9-11 and the events surrounding the grassy knoll in Dallas.
Prune and Agent Orange the shrubs.
I'm happy it was posted because not everyone can read every FR post.
Well,I used to have some respect for GW Bush. Now he is just another blowhard elitist who will say anything negative about President Trump. Who,where, and when did this racism take place and why? I guess it’s all Whiteys fault again.
Yeah, Bush is an NFL creature.. let us remember in his stint in sports management. The NFL is globalist state charitist corporatist teams in the style of Hunger Games. There is no real nationality to it or home team, just a bunch of players picked from all over the world.
Maybe Bush is going to take a knee too now?
Globalism is a failure simply because exceptionalism is where it rules. Exceptionalism is in the American team of the Declaration, not in his corporate state religionist shenanigans reminiscing of when the Catholic church was in charge of opinion during medieval times, reason for the pilgrims.
Bush seem to hate American Independence from British or Catholic global empires.
Just another Useful Idiot like McCain who doesn’t blame the people who hate his guts for anything.
Like McCain, he thinks he is getting “brownie” points for siding with the Enemy.
“Whats the theory, we hate him until he says something we like?”
I hate him no matter what he says, or doesn’t say! He f*cked our country for 8 years, ran Iraq into a too long war that he didn’t win, and gave us Obie. How much worse could he have been?
Trump has created some very bitter, very stupid enemies. GW Bush is just another bewildered fool politico who can no longer remain silent. He has no capacity to understand what is happening. Nor do the MSM, the Democrats or the Rinos. Trump is successfully shifting the political paradigm. Americans will no longer tolerate one world/no borders, free migration globalists who endorse socialism and policies that weaken America economically, demean American nationalism and corrode the culture. They are howling because things are changing, they cannot control the people, cannot control events.
Before I get too worked up about this, I want to make sure that is what George W. really said. It wouldn’t be the first time that CNN put their own special-sauce spin on things to disparage Trump.
BANG!
A trifecta of ignorance.
“we hope you are successful” dummy had Obama take down all he had said in terms of military legacy and economic small business legacy, and the fool said nothing.
Obama brought the dark ages in the mid east to the risk of economic breakdown of the mid eastern trade routes.
Bush said absolutely nothing, or nothing the media would indicate.
Trump goes over there to fix this sht and jr. shts on him!!
Wtf is wrong with this dude? Schizoid much?
No matter what, the Bush family stick together. Jebby lost the 4th chance for the Bush’s to celebrate Christmas in the Whitehouse. Mamma won’t be able to crow how humble the family is for celebrating Happy Holiday AGAIN in the nation’s house.
I voted for W twice, I knew he wasn’t very strong, I knew he is a Christian, he was better than Romney or McCain. He did a couple of things that were right, once in So America, forget the country, where their guards surrounded a SS fellow and W stepped in and told them the SS was HIS! and he did well during the days after 9-11. BUT
I have lost respect for him, lately. He said NOT ONE WORD about nobama and his law breaking. He’s wasted NO TIME finding fault with President Trump. WHY? I don’t think he loves America and us as much as he loves the internationalists and the power and attention being shown to him.
George, at one time a decent person, has gone down an evil road, should keep his mouth shut and look in the mirror before offering smackdowns on any one.
