Terrorism: Nine months after President Trump promised to defeat ISIS "quickly and effectively," U.S.-backed forces captured Raqqa, which until Tuesday had served as the ISIS capital. The battle now is over who deserves credit: Trump or President Obama.
Trump, not surprisingly, claims it for himself: "It had to do with the people I put in and it had to do with rules of engagement," Trump said in a radio interview.
Before dismissing this as typical Trump self-aggrandizement, consider that for several years Obama insisted that a quick and decisive victory against ISIS was all but impossible.

A lot of what is shown on maps as controlled by the various groups IS-controlled on maps is just desert. Aren’t we really talking about who controls cities, villages, roads and some other bits of key terrain? To me, it is difficult to determine how the various sides are doing apart from adding up the various cities and villages that they occupy. By that metric, I think IS is really on the ropes. But IDK for sure - just throwing it out there.
It's sad when we celebrate and trumpet an accurate media story as if it happens about as often as you win a lottery. Sad because truthful media stories are hard to find.
