Jacksonville Jaguars president Mark Lamping has apologized to the city of Jacksonville's director of military affairs chief and local military representatives for not fully understanding the potential impact of the decision several players made to kneel during the national anthem before their Sept. 24 game against the Baltimore Ravens in London.
In a letter dated Oct. 6 and sent to Bill Spann, the city's director of military affairs and veterans department and local military representatives, Lamping said the organization did not fully consider the furor that would result from those actions, especially given that the entire team stood for "God Save the Queen."
Owner Shad Khan, executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin and Lamping hosted Spann and several local military representatives at a meeting at EverBank Field on Oct. 5. They discussed what happened in London, and Lamping wrote the letter the next day and sent it to Spann and the military reps that attended the meeting. Spann forwarded his copy of the letter to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry on Monday afternoon.
"It bears repeating that we were remiss in not fully comprehending the effect of the national anthem demonstration occurring on foreign soil has had on the men and women who have or continue to serve our country," Lamping wrote...

He's just saying, "I'm sorry that your primitive feelings were offended by my superior actions."
Third post of this thread, but you are forgiven... :-)
“Spann forwarded his copy of the letter to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry on Monday afternoon.
It was a calculated move from their PR firm. You dont forward a private letter to the vets, THEN to the mayor to show you are wrong. Then someone emails the letter to the press?? What a load of sh*t.
The owner is a muslim. A very, very rich muslim.
Too late!
I just seen a team owner apologizing to some military leaders and a mayor. The players are just as committed to their leftist BLM bull crap as they ever were. I don’t see players going on the base and apologizing to an E-3 about to deploy.
These people are fools...
Looks like the NFL is lost...
To not understand the potential impact of this egregiously disrespectful behavior is inexcusable. This ungrateful man and his stable of spoiled primma donna players have no regard or respect for the incredible sacrifices our military has made to keep ALL OF US free.
I can't help but wonder if anyone in his family has ever served in the United States military?
Last night’s game(Titans vs. Colts) only had 10.3 million viewers.
Patiently waiting for one to draw less than 10 million.
And. I don’t think I will have to wait too much longer.
More winning.
What was really funny was there were a host of articles and news reports yesterday that the sunday game attendance was low but not because of the protest! It was a late start, unusual here; weather was great so some stayed home, they did not give away as many tickets as usual etc were some of the excuses used in the PR press. I see, given this is the first time this team has been in first place this late in the season since 2008 was not a draw, I see.
So this is what is called an apology? They aren't sorry the knelt during the anthem and disrespected America on foreign soil, only that people got upset.
Malik Jackson, a highly paid member of the Jagwads defense, made remarks the other day amounting to “If you don’t like what we’re doing, too bad.”
I’d post the original comment, but it appears to have been scrubbed from the Florida TU website.
Teach the dumbass kneelers that the Brits brought over 8 times as many slaves as US ships brought, and brought them earlier.
“Dumb” cam be cured with education; “stupid” is forever.
Apparently the letter is being made public after a fan hired a plane to tow a boycott banner over the stadium. The plane and public outrage has gotten their attention.
Next you'll see the Jags hiring Tebow in the front office as Vice-President of American Outreach.
Eisenhower forced Patton to apologize in person to the soldiers en masse, in person, for a lot less.
Google Mr. Shad Khan, the owner, to see how truly apologetic the management is...according to this Paki billionaire it is all Mr. Trump’s fault that we are in conflict over his players disrespect for this country...any navy vets in the mayport area who support this team with a dime of their money should be ashamed. I am one who will not.
So what are they going to do the next game
Stand at attention with hands over heart or the linked arms BS
> for not fully understanding the potential impact
Had the wrong impact, not just a misunderstanding.
wanted: everyone to know Trump sucks
got: -$$$$$$$$
That money is probably coming out of lower future donations to BLM, antifa, and “the resistance”. But he’ll personally lose money too. Mistake all-around.
