I don't see Communism as striving for Social Justice. It subjects the populace with the promise of a utopia that never comes. But the animals at the top of Animal Farm sure live well.
What of Mao's cultural revolution was a "noble dream"? Destroying the artifacts of ancient Chinese nobility? Students killing and eating their teachers???
Over and over again, I've heard it said that "Communism is wonderful in theory, but it just hasn't been properly implemented." That's not the case. I can name 3 societies where communism is working wonderfully off the top of my head, without having to give it any thought.
Bees, ants, and termites.
These are 3 examples of the perfection of the communist model. Everything is for the good of the collective.
The problem with communism is that it just won't work when it comes to humans. Human beings are incapable of becoming selfless to the extent for communism to work. Communism requires the sacrifice of all to ensure the well being of the community.
Free will has no place in communism. Excel at science as a yourh? You will become a scientist. Not really good anything in particular? You'll become what The State needs you to be. You will live how and where The State determines you need to live. Communism worked hard to eliminate religion, and set up "The State" as the official G-d. As we've seen over and over, even family bonds are discouraged, though that was more difficult with the USSR, due to the strong history of the church.
You will be provided with what you need to survive, no matter how you excel at your work. With no reward for excellence, why bother working hard?
Most importantly, communism devalues the individual, and cannot allow dissent of any kind. Dissent must be eliminated, and history shows that the most common way of doing that was through an authoritarian government eliminating those with the differing views. Communism removes the humanity from the population. And that makes communism evil.
