Your whole life has been predicated on being the ‘kid who earned the gold star’, elevating yourself, NOT on serving others. So much of life is a lotto, and the best and brightest aren't who you think they are. The best any of us can do is to try our hardest to be good people, to give to others, and to try to leave the world a little bit better for our being in it. No one has a right to ‘fame’ or ‘historical’ status. Further, those who seek such things are too often very shallow.
Your narcissism has led you to a shallow life, and has prevented you from giving more than you could have - particularly given the expansive opportunities that have been presented to you. Do you not see that your inability to move on from the election, and your incessant need to proclaim that a place in history was denied you unfairly, diminishes you even further. You have very, very big issues, and should seek honest help. It would be the least and best that you can do for your daughter and grandchildren.
