HARTFORD, Conn. -- Connecticut lawmakers are considering whether the state should become the first in the country to allow police to use drones outfitted with deadly weapons, a proposal immediately met with concern by civil rights and civil liberties advocates.
The bill would ban the use of weaponized drones, but exempt police. Details on how law enforcement could use drones with weapons would be spelled out in rules to be developed by the state Police Officer Standards and Training Council. Officers also would have to receive training before being allowed to use drones with weapons.

North Dakota is the only state that allows police to use weaponized drones, but limits the use to less lethal weapons, including stun guns, rubber bullets and tear gas.
Five states - Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Vermont and Wisconsin - prohibit anyone from using a weaponized drone, while Maine and Virginia ban police from using armed drones, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Several other states have restricted drone use in general.

The GI Joe 80’s toy PAC-RAT coming to life somewhat.
I’d love to have the chassis.
Paint the drone blue, equip with mikes, and the smallest mini-gun available and get Blue Thunder 2.0. It would have to be decent sized to carry all that stuff.
Me neither. It’s just a matter of time before some drunk spaced out wacko cop goes on a killing spree at the local high school football game or takes out Christmas shoppers.
The more of these out there, the more chance another Paddock would get them. Of course, it’d have less fire power than him in his room. But it’ll be the “fun video game” aspect that will draw the basement dwellers.
Yep, criminals will get their hands on them.
The police are generally law abiding people like everyone else.
However it has become apparent during the information age that a lot of them are criminals hiding under a badge.
Most conspiracy theories involve the government. But most conservatives thumb their noses at conspiracy theories, and the government.
I don’t get it.
True, true, but blowing out a fraction of the brain, one which might include a tumor or clot or area of abnormality would prevent any reasonable coroner from announcing there was no abnormality.
That’s how it’s done, but sadly I can’t add you to the list, because you’re already there...
Welcome aboard!
That's just silly. The cops work for The Government, and are therefor totally trustworthy and much saner than you or I could ever aspire to be.
Only they should be allowed to carry, but not own, The Government's guns!
Me neither. Hang on and enjoy the ride!
This theory explains all the egregious non-sequiturs of this miserable excuse of an investigation.
So a drone took out the shooter with a mouth shot? Put the bong down and step away from it.
I know. I am just being a guide to the entrance door.
From my TR3B, of course.
interesting ping
Who is Jones?
neither do I. I mean why would Freepers trust the same FBI now in a botched investigation, when they didn’t trust the FBI less than a year ago for not investigating Hillary over her criminal actions? Seems strange especially since Trump didn’t exactly clean out the swamp dwellers or Obama drones of any of the departments like we all expected him to do as he was claiming as such during his campaigning.
Seriously????
Too Tall Jones of the 70’s & 80’s era Dallas Cowboys? Davey Jones of the Monkees? I have no clue.
So in response to a post about Cra Cra theories and Infowars I use the name Jones and you are clueless?
Tell me what it is, why be vague?
Except in the famous picture he is laying 3 feet from the gun and there is a shell casing laying on on top of it?
