“The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors met today to discuss the allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and has voted well in excess of the required two-thirds majority to immediately expel him from the Academy. We do so not simply to separate ourselves from someone who does not merit the respect of his colleagues but also to send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over. What’s at issue here is a deeply troubling problem that has no place in our society. The Board continues to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be expected to exemplify.”

What meltdown? They all knew and did nothing. Now we know, and suddenly, this great kabuki theater show is put on for our benefit. There’s no meltdown and there will never be. Hollywood is a pit of iniquity - pedophilia, rape, all of it.

While he's earned this, the behavior of the Academy is itself disgusting, as they are only doing this to save themselves. They are neither horrified, nor appalled. They are running scared.
The threshold here for stripping him of his membership is not 'how bad was his behavior and how much actual harm did he do to people' but 'what must we do to appear like we care, and how much harm will be done to us if we don't?'
As usual, the problem isn't that he did it, it's that he allowed himself to do it so much that he got caught. To them, he was careless and sloppy, not unethical.

Actually, most all the "members" still in the Academy are far worse than Harvey, so this would be a plus for him.

Astonishing to guess is that for every aspiring actress that took offense and declined that there were probably 10 that pinched their nose and joined the world’s oldest profession.
I wonder how it started for Harvey? Was he first seduced by actresses for parts and then grew to accept and finally to demand sexual favors? Or is it a natural condition that started from puberty?

It will be interesting to see whether anyone wants to take on a big pedophile problem in Hollywood and other prominent places, such as, governments, for example. We could be looking at big sexually perverse “give and takes” which have networks throughout the power structure. I am guessing this is a big problem on the left and could be one reason they hate the idea that Trump is President, because he could learn just how pervasive some of this actually is. Oh, I know, they want to paint him with the same brush as the Hollywood brute but the woman issues between Trump and what we know about Weinstein are like night and day. Trump’s sin was trash talk with another guy about women which guys do a lot. I became furious today when a magazine, “The Week,” appeared in our mailbox. On the front cover was a cartoonish picture of Weinstein, President Trump and Bill O’Reilly, all in bathrobes with their pot bellies showing. The editors of this publication are trying to put Trump and O’Reilly in the same camp as Weinstein????????????????? This goes in the trash at our house immediately. No one else with see this %^&*$%^&* representation and distortion of the facts put out by just another fake news outfit. There are others out there like the ogre, Weinstein, but they are NOT President Trump and Bill O’Reilly.
