To: miss marmelstein
I went to school in the 60s. We never had Halloween costumes or parties at school. We were too busy being miserable with the multiplication tables.

Teachers had a lot more authority over what took place in their classrooms back then also...I don't recall too many school wide activities besides some general assemblies.

AMEN brother! When administrations don't back the teachers in the classroom with discipline issues, there's virtually nothing we can do to stem the tide...
