You are the second person from CO that I know of who has referred to the state government as "The Dummies in Denver". The other being a friend in Greeley. Is this a term that is in common use?
If so, I have to start promoting the term "The Pinheads in Phoenix".

A talk radio guy in Loveland often refers to the “dome of dummies” relating to most legislation.

“Dummies in Denver” has the sound of two Ds. “Pinheads in Phoenix does not. I suggest you revise “Pinheads” to some word with the “F” sound...in fact, keep the “...heads” part. You could even make it more memorable by using “Ph” instead of the proper “F” in a word. Use your imagination.
