An op-ed in the Princeton University student newspaper attacking conservatives' right to free speech has triggered an impassioned response from many students, and even a professor.
Princeton student Ryan Born argued in his op-ed for The Daily Princetonian that "when conservatives appeal to 'free speech,'" it is safe to ignore them, since "they are appealing to a right that does not exist.

How did this ignoramus get into Princeton? Is he a minority or did his parents give money? When this crap occurs at crappy schools I shrug my shoulders and have a laugh. But when students at schools like Princeton who will be assuming positions of power in America say this crap I am scared to death.

The first amendment was written by dead white men--everyone knows that!
Now that we are perfect virtuous humans we get to rewrite all the rules.
So spaketh the crazy left.

What do you expect from the new “Poison Ivy” League Universities?? You allowed them to control of your children’s minds. Was the sticker on your rear windshield worth that?

Princeton's apparently joined the long list of $50K/yr babysitters.
Proving yet again that knowledge and wisdom are two entirely different critters.

Colleges have been preaching about ‘invalid’ points of view for years. I had a brief conversation with a Denver U student years ago at an anti-Clinton FReep. There was an obnoxious group as part of that protest. The kid came up to me and started talking to me. He said my point of view was valid and theirs was not. I told him the First Amendment does not differentiate between valid and invalid points of view. He pondered that for a moment and then brightened up and said, “Well, that means I can call them a**holes, then!” I told him, go for it. And that was back in 2000. Lord knows how bad it is now with the mush that gets pumped into student heads.

It is just a matter of time before the leftists yelling “Nazis” start measuring brain size and offering that as “proof” that conservatives have inferior intelligence.

I live 20 minutes from Princeton and visit all the time because of the butchers and bakers that now are a fixture of that pretty but boring little town. If you go to the bookstore that supplies the reading material for students, you'll see how dumbed down it has become. The English Dept. studies Romeo & Juliet and Pride and Prejudice. These were on my high school syllabus. Something is radically wrong in all the institutions of higher learning.

In my belief, when conservative ideas are opposed, there is no right that is being infringed, he adds. Put that into practice and let's see how it goes for you.

He’s echoing Lenin, who considered free speech a “bourgeois value,” and hence illegitimate.

My first inclination was to comment ‘unbelievable’, but sadly the fact that a screed like this would be published in any college or university student newspaper is not unbelievable at all. Not even at Princeton.

Actually, that's not as bad as I expected. I expected "The Handmaid's Tale" and Maya Angelou and Ta-Nahessi What's-His-Name. I thought Shakespeare would be banned by now.
