If Columbus hadn’t come here, someone would have. If not the Europeans, the Chinese. Does anyone believe that the Indians would have fared any better under Chinese domination?
Let’s say that no one ever came here, and the natives were allowed to remain in control here. What would it be like? They had been here for thousands of years, yet they hadn’t even invented the wheel, and lived in huts or teepees, and were largely a hunter gatherer society. They would probably have made little progress, and may very well have died out all on their own.

Very hard to speculate.... We can only answer that in hindsight and ask ourselves how those that came under Chinese influence in the past have fared -— Tibetans, Koreans, etc.
