Finding it hard to care about the richest part of the Sanctuary State. Sorry.
Wow.
Can’t focus on whats happening in Santa Rosa right now as we are currently under mandatory evac as of 2:30 am. I am out of town working and can not leave. Wife has everything packed and ready to leave...#La Porte Fire, Butte COunty which is also the “Cascade Fire in Yuba COunty. These two fires are rather merged at some points. Total of perhaps 8K acres at last report. Then there is the Cherokee Fire also in Butte County.
We can’t get airplan assets as they are tasked elsewhere. HOw did all these fires start. More in likely arcing power lines due to high winds would be my guess. Very windy yesterday, unusual. Now I am hearing reports of possible looters in the Cherokee fire area via scanner. Jeez, this is why wife is staying until the lsat mknute. She has no internet, smart phone and cell phone almost useless...depending upon me to monitor the situation and give her updates. Luckily the job I am doing allows me to do just that and my job at the same time. I won’t explain what I am doing, but I am some four-five hours away.
More power lines down...jeez. So I hope Stryker (?) has a little bit of empathy for us folks here in California...Its not always about politics. Even if someone is here illegally, or of a different lifestyle or political persuasion, they too deserve to get rescued. We can sort out the details later if its neccessary.
Needless to say..no sleep last nght for wife and I as she loaded stuff and I tried to find what little info was available. The #LaPorteFire is on a low priority it seems as all assests have been delated elsewhere earlier.
I was wondering if these fires were wind related. So you are saying it was windy in those areas yesterday.....sigh. No doubt wind related then....
Prayers.
That’s horrible.
Praying for you and your wife and, of course, your home.
Take care.
