As the technology has evolved, the cost of movie making has dropped. In the period when features were budgeted in the mid millions, Easy Rider was brought in for $360,000. That same thing’s possible now, but the scripts aren’t there and the folks who’d go see them are relaxing at home after a hard day’s work rather than going out to a movie.

There’s a lot of competition among subscription TV services who are doing some of their own flicks. With 400K coming along, the audience that can afford to adopt the new technology first will be well-healed. Maybe at that point one of the streamers, (or even a new one) will see the wisdom in trying to serve the other half of America’s viewers.

One thing to note, though, foreign distribution is a significant revenue source, and foreign audiences skew left.

They don’t have any writers in Hollywood, all they do is remakes of old movies that can’t even come close to the original. They “modernize” them by throwing in some profanity, lots of nudity, and a few explicit sex scenes and call it art.

There are a lot of good writers on the right. Most of the really good selling books are written by the right. Bill O’Reillys books would make great movies. Hallmark has some good movies, every time there is a good right leaning movie it makes decent money. Last Man Standing was a great program with a large following.
