Yet I’ve read commentary on Justice Thomas praising him for writing many of the clearest and most constitutionally cogent opinions coming out of the SCUS.

His dissent to Gonzales v Raich, aka The Commerce Clause decision, is devastating to the majority opinion. Which means nothing, but felt good.
