My recollection was he said he MIGHT have had help somewhere during the process, not necessarily during the actual shooting. And even if he had help, that doesn't mean the shooter was a patsy, a stooge, a victim, a government agent, a member of antifa, or was using guns obtained from Fast & Furious.

Some of them, maybe. I have no problem with speculation - I do it myself - but it bothers me when speculation - often based on unverified or assumed information, or even information already known to be false - is presented as fact, and anyone who disagrees is treated as a witless tool of the CIA.

Many hotels are surrounded by a strip of plantings, i.e., shrubs, flowers, trees and/or lawns, and the sound of falling debris might be somewhat muted by the relatively soft impact area. That, plus the fact that a music concert - with amplified instruments - was going on, makes it easy to understand how the falling glass might not be noticed except by people who were right next to it.

Where are the thousands of rounds of spent brass????? You should barely be able to see the carpet with all the spent cases around. Any why no burns? The spent brass is HOT. After a few magazines at full auto (or bump fire) the barrel gets HOT. When you put a rifle with a HOT barrel down on nylon carpet it’s gonna leave a mark!

Have you ever cleaned up an indoor range after over 3,000 rounds have been expended??? I have been a range safety officer during NRA pistol classes. 32 shooters each firing 50 rounds. That’s only 1,600 rounds. It’s like a brass carpet for goodness sake!!!

There are other possible reasons, such as he was a psychopathic nutcase like his dad was.

Come to think of it, mass shootings in the United States being politically or religiously motivated seem to be a relatively recent trend. Going through this list of mass shootings over the years, most of them took place for reasons that had nothing to do with ideology.

My #197 is an adjunct to your discussion of the "hurricane" glass...

AFAIK, there was heavy landscaping shrubbery adjacent to the building, which might have caught/concealed much of it. However, from 32 floors up. aerodynamics would be expected to "sail" significant flat pieces a considerable distance from a vertical trajectory.

All I can figure is that that must have been generally-unoccupied ground area. OTOH, on the Strip, there are precious few square feet of non-functional ground area...

Also, did no one on lower floors notice "junk" crashing down past their windows?
