In practical terms, people who want “gun control” need to understand that it is a total impossibility at this juncture. Those who point to Australia as a model, have their heads up their a$$es. Australia is a country of 24 million people most of whom live in the narrowly defined areas along portions of it’s coastline. So their “confiscation” was a relatively simple act when coupled with a “constitution” that has no Second Amendment.
Here we have what, 325 million citizens and more than one gun for each of them. So the idea that guns or a class of guns can be taken by the government is simply not possible. Furthermore, with the proliferation of guns we have, the idea that any “gun control” would eliminate shootings like happened in Las Vegas is equally ill-conceived. In the US, there will ALWAYS be guns available to criminals.
