Her family would not speak English. I don’t get how her English would have anything. The article is talking about what she said to her brother while in the Philippines before she left to come back here to talk with the FBI.
Now the English translation of what she said to her family might be getting lost. BUT if you watch the video her brother says that her words to him he didn’t get the feeling she was surprised, she was very relaxed. Again who knows, it’s all an interpretation but he kind of throws her under the bus.
