The authorities are not happy about the leaks

I'm neither a lawyer nor law enforcement, so here is my question: if pad-dick is dead and thus can no longer be prosecuted for murder, why should the authorities care that the photos were leaked?

The only thing I can think of is that they want to control the narrative.

Also, since there is a leak, perhaps this is a sign that some insider has no confidence at all that the truths they are finding will ever be exposed for the public to see.

Unless they suspect, or rule out the possibility, that others were involved.

That would be a reason for a clamp down on information about the case.

Sheriff isn’t ruling out other’s being involved and is moving forward in a manner to preserve evidence, chain of custody, etc. for possible charges against others.
