“Reason #3,589 to buy a Ford Super Duty.”

You mean like the one we just rented with the V10 gas engine that “spit out” a spark plug?
Go read about Ford’s Modular Engine’s multiple points of failure before you buy!
Another “good idea from Ford!” #2 is the aluminum bed.

My 2017 F250 diesel is a V8. No issues with the aluminum bed here — much of that chatter comes from GM!

That’s why I bought a 2017 F350 diesel.

And just how old was this rental truck with a V10? Yes some had the spark plug issue.

Quality engines have helicoiled spark plug threads.

Learned that on 60s VW bugs...

Haha - that and turning Explorers into “mall finders”.

We actually have an older Explorer — got a great deal on one considering it’s mileage and condition. It’s “adequate” for going camping, or “exploring” a somewhat dicey Forest Service road (not the REALLY bad ones) and actually not bad out on the Interstate - we sometimes get around 25 mpg. Reliability has been “ok”. In many other ways, though, it’s not a well executed vehicle, and it makes you wonder where all the years of experience go.
