An AR-15 isn't that loud. No way it was an AR-15. It sounded an awful lot like a G30 to me. Same rate of fire, same deep throated sound. Yes, I've fired a G30.Given the distance and the number of casualties, I am skeptical that this could have been 5.56 mm. I was thinking 7.62 mm (or larger caliber).
