The “haddock” was my hearing missing the P.
That makes sense...I'd guessed as much, but decided to be a wiseguy about haddock.
I remember way back when, there used to be small blocks of frozen haddock (wrapped in printed label waxed paper, the small blocks of fish being fully rectangular) sold in grocery stores. Somebody had the nerve to call that "seafood". My dear old mother's cooking of it didn't help (that woman could burn water -- I'm not kidding).
