Stephen Paddock, 64, lived just 90 minutes outside Las Vegas in the city of Mesquite, where he purchased a home in a retirement community for just over $369,000 in 2015 according to public records.
He lived there with his female companion Marilou Danley according to records, the same woman police now have in custody as they begin their investigation into the horrific terror attack.
Paddock had both hunting and fishing licenses according to public records, as well as his pilot's license. He may have also worked as an internal auditor at Lockheed Martin for some time, and managed an apartment building complex in Mesquite, Texas
AIRO (Reuters) - Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a shooting that killed at least 50 people and wounded over 400 in Las Vegas early on Monday, and said the attacker had converted to Islam a few months ago.
The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition, the groups news agency Amaq said in reference to the U.S.-led coalition fighting the group in the Middle East.
