Catalonia's independence referendum has begun in chaotic fashion, with clashes occurring as police attempt to prevent the vote from taking place.

The Corporatists-Globalists want fewer borders so cheap labor can move across them and do business easier.

Left and Right are both getting fooled by fake politicians who pretend to be on their side but are on the side of business and banking.

Brexit and other moves like this threaten their agenda.

Central governments almost never willingly give up territory and tax money. Same here in the U.S. in 1861.

Well, that’s part of their responsibility is to protect the integrity of their borders.

Not sure where people keep getting the idea that succession is an unchallengeable action. Other than a very few notable exceptions, they have been contested for thousands of years.

I mean, good luck to them, but after the celebration comes the civil war. And goodness knows Spain can really put their all into that type of thing.

It looks like the Spanish government has just shown it’s autocratic self to the world. King Felipe could have called off the jackbooted police and Civil Guard, but instead lets them run wild at the bidding of the EU and Brussels.
The Spanish government has turned an independence referendum that would have been defeated in terms of votes cast into an inevitable split of Catalonia from Spain, by force of arms and civil war if forced to that end.

Why would you think the poster would be unaware that Catalonia is a part of Spain? With the EU and Globalists, every freedom loving person around the world needs to be aware and alert lest their freedoms die.

“the government should give us a reason to stay united instead of sending riot police” says a Catalan...

Oh, but there is one, mwhich is Euro unity in a sort of Declaration of State against islamic sedition seeking to undermine all rights starting with women’s rights... but we cannot say that, because the globalists do not really want unity but repression and division to reign.

This looks like a bad joke the globalists are coopting to create yet more division and hate amongst Spaniards.....

Catalonia is not a republic and it is not free although it does enjoy some independence. It is working to get a constitution.

My question is , "Why is Catalonia a subject here on FreeRepublic?"

True, but its sort of a case study with national and local police enforcing court orders against the will of the local government.

That led to today’s outbursts of violence and hundreds of injuries.
