Doubling the mortgage interest deduction is fixing the code?

I only read about the ‘standard’ deduction doubling. Where did you read about the mortgage interest deduction doubling?

It doubles the standard deduction, not the mortgage interest deduction.

Normally I’m in favor of anything that reduces cashflow to DC, but this will simply raise the price of housing.
