As part of a wave of protests throughout the NFL in the wake of President Donald Trump's NFL-related comments, the Steelers will not be on the field for the playing of the national anthem before their game against the Bears on Sunday.
Coach Mike Tomlin told CBS his team would remain in the locker room for the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner.

You are all cowards. Rather than protest in front of a government building, because you are protesting government actions, you safely protest in your owner’s stadium.

Hatteras, I just returned from visiting my Dad’s gravesite at the National Military Cemetery. Rather than watch those who dishonor the flag, I chose to honor those who revered it.

The players are employees, paid to perform for the fans. They should protest on their own time.
This issue is becoming a big distraction from important issues such as the size and scope of government, the federal debt, the Fed, foreign policy etc.
Allejandro Villanueva (a steeler) did exactly that. He’s a West Point graduate, and a fine patriot for defying his teammates.

I did not think it was possible for me to despise the Steelers more than I already did but this foolishness showed me I was wrong. I am glad they lost.

We have so many enemies within now. The “delusional left” I see not an accident, but a carefully planned take-over by communists who realized the revolution was never going to happen, so they began the “long march through the institutions.” Over 40 years, they purposely took over education, churches, entertainment, news and a lot of law. Their toxic anti-freedom beliefs permeate everything and are made possible by tens of millions of useful idiots.
My point about muslims is how the sequence of events set in motion by 9/11 brought us to where we are today. I don’t believe our horribly divided nation in 2017 was planned by moslems, but they could not have wished for a better outcome in the attack in 2001. The confluence of subrosa communism, moslem jihad, useful idiots, a permanently aggrieved minority (no matter how much we give them), and now serious external threats has brought us to a very perilous state. If we were nuked by the NORKs today, I think half the nation would say “we deserved it — let’s surrender.”
