That is a very provocative statement. Unfortunately, it really does apply to America today. The left of years ago opposed the right, but they didn’t hate the right. Democrat Tip O’Neill had many pleasant conversations with Republican Ronald Reagan.
But today’s left hates the right. The left says that anyone on the right is more than just wrong. He’s also a hater, a racist, a monster.
And the left will do violence against against anyone who disagrees with them. Then they justify that violence.
So you’re right. America is entering a period like 1930’s Germany.
And they believe that the right, and its ideas, are responsible for anything and everything “wrong” with the country, that we stand in the way of progress to a stable and prosperous land of equality. They feel morally justified in doing whatever they can to destroy us.
