We all live in this world with limited actual resources. Where do the 310 gigatons of carbon then come from?

Yeah, but...according to the previous settled science, if you add more CO2 to the earth's atmosphere, you get more life, not mass extinction.

Plants love all that carbon dioxide and more CO2 = more plants.

Plants eat CO2 and release oxygen and animals eat the plants.

More CO2 = more plants and animals.

How convenient that Professor Daniel Rothman won’t be around to answer for his prediction. What does he think will happen next month?

By the year 2100, about 310 gigatons of carbon will have been added to the oceans - a potential 'tipping point' for ecological disaster, according to the study.

The earth and it's atmosphere is a closed system, nothing is added to it.

Where did the carbon come from???? Oh, the earth. Where is it going???? Oh, the earth.

310 gigatons of carbon will not be added, just moved and re-cycled.

If human-caused climate change is going to cause this 6th extinction event, who/what caused the other 5 extinction events?

Interesting article about acidification of the oceans.
https://www.pmel.noaa.gov/co2/story/What+is+Ocean+Acidification%3F

Yes, much of what the left is doing in climate change is to take control of our lives. They have lied about the research. They are vomit inducing hypocritical. But I do have some concern about what is happening to the oceans. Moving toward environmentally friendly sources of renewable power is a good thing and, unlike most here, I do not mock the general goal. If we ultimately get to the place, after capital expenditure, that we get almost “free” power from the sun, that’s good. As long as there is a balance that allows us to move that way without destroying jobs and the world economy and giving the elitists control over our daily lives, I am fine with the efforts. I try to lead my own life as if I am renting my space here and I want God to give me back my security deposit.

Flame away if you like, but I am not going to respond. Just giving an opinion.

I predict, with 99% certainty, that is mathematician will not be here to be called out on his incorrect prediction when it proves to be wrong.

You know, I’m rethinking Mao’s cultural revolution.

Maybe it wasn’t a such bad idea taking all the academics and sending them out to do actual work in the farms.

Earth will face a SIXTH mass extinction by 2100 thanks to global warming, predicts mathematician

Mass extinctions occurred hundreds of millions of years apart and suddenly these hysterical imbeciles will predict the next one within a hundred years?

Ummmm.
OK. I suppose it's pointless to try to explain to a normal person what a "moving average" is involving hundreds of millions of years if mathematicians act ignorant about it?
