South of San Jose there is a city called Morgan Hill and there five years ago two boys on Cinco de Mayo went to school with American Flag t-shirts.
the principal sent them home from school because he said it created a hostile atmosphere.
there was a big uproar and the case went to the Supreme Court.
In the Court ruling 18 months ago the Court held for the school not the boys.
Thanks, yes I remember that, will tell the Grandsons they wore Trump shirts last year, but live in rural areas.
My kids' elementary school here in Florida has this same policy: "There's a policy," she said, "that if your child is having a party unless every child is invited you don't give out the invites in class."
poor kid the only ones that are offended is social climbing adults.....every kid needs a partner in crime to get into trouble with.
Schools ban the 1st Amendment. No freedom of speech. No freedom of assembly. No freedom from religious establishment. No freedom of association.
We used to teach civics and the 1st Amendment in school. It is no wonder they don’t teach it anymore. Kids would get a mixed message.
Rules made by people who do not have ability to form best friend relationships!
Then come the minders...then they will report on each other's parents.
I’m not sure the headline matches the story here. The policy of having to invite everyone if you pass out invitations at school seems like a good one in the elementary schools.
Nobody actually read the article, right?
I need to start doing that.

My point is ‘who decided that having best friends is wrong?’. I grew up in mountains, with only relatives to hand out with, cousins mostly. I had an imaginary friend, who later disappeared once I went to school. I have had two or three best friends in a lifetime, and it has enhanced my life immensely. Why? Because they were older and spiritually mature, which gave me a much closer walk with God!
One can have so many friends, that no one is special, nor gets a fair amount of our time to really get to know one another. This idea of no best friend to keep you from doing something really crazy SCREAMS ‘COLLECTIVISM’...WHAT OBAMA WANTED! People think in groups, agree on politics, and help decide what the Group is supposed to think, and how to act!
NO THANK YOU!
As I look at the DEMOCRATS...that type of thinking is how they respond....always on cell phone, flash crowds, and collective thinking.
Nobody said that. The article does not match the headline.
I meant no insult....just find some of newer things annoying, like this article. I agree, the Headline is odd.
