It’s because the dogs aren’t properly trained. I’ve been to restaurants in Germany where it looks like EVERYONE brings their trained, well-mannered dog. My favorite hotel hereabouts (USA) is dog-friendly, and if the weather’s nice you can bring your dog down with you to the patio where you will be served. To each his own.

Well, I don’t allow my well trained and well behaved chocolate lab in the kitchen or dining room while we’re eating so why would I want to put up with other people’s dogs in restaurants? I don’t care how clean they think their dogs are, they’re still dogs and they’re naked to boot.

I’d opt for a no dog policy restaurant every time and I love dogs.
