Very true statement about nannies, house cleaners, and landscapers. The real problem for the landscapers, and those that hire house cleaners, is that there are not enough people who have the gumption to actually work at entry level jobs. Too many opt to collect welfare with all it’s benefits to actually work for a living. Other’s collect welfare and get money “under the table” as well as landscaping and cleaning houses. People will always find ways to cheat the system. Sad for those who actually work and report their income to the IRS.

We have been hiring teenagers to cut our grass and clean our house when we are unable to do it ourselves. There is always a teenager willing to make some good money.

One of the biggest problems in America today is the double-major, double-professional household. Illegals have made this option valid. Before, a man needed a woman, and a woman needed a man. The man provided the home, the woman took care of the children. Now they can both work, ignore the kids, take Parisian vacations, and ski the slopes of Vail while Maria keeps the kids. This is now a generational trend, with the children of AWOL parents thinking that this is normal.

Workfare next.

Move able-bodied welfare recipients into the jobs vacated by self-deporters, and cut their benefits by an amount equal to their new 40 hour income. Childcare tax credits would have to play into this. If they refuse, leave their benefits reduced.

Illegals keep the wages down on the bottom rung jobs. Without illegals those jobs have to be done, wages will have to be raised. At this point it pays more to be on social services than those jobs pay. That is why so many illegals get on the programs. They aren’t making enough to live on those wages either. When 24 men rent a house they can make plenty of money to live and send back to their country. When one decides to get a woman, raise children then they find it is not enough money.

It is not like the dims say that lettuce will cost $10 a head and all the scare stories, but wages will go up without illegals competing for the jobs. A huge chicken processing plant was raided several years ago and 300 illegals taken out by ICE. The owners said no one else would do those jobs. The truth is locals lined up for the jobs- they complained later they had to raise wages by $1 an hour to hire locals.

It is not the cost of the wages as much as all the other payroll costs, and benefits that make it so lucrative to hire illegals. We need to lighten up on business regulations and taxes and they can pay more wages.

When wages are higher than social services (which some parts of that need to be cut back as well) then make it harder to get on the dole. Social services is not for able bodied people that would rather hang out all day, or for people waiting for a better job.
