I do a lot of outdoors stuff and have plenty of items made of performance fabric. In the winter especially, cotton kills. It retains moisture from sweat and contributes to hypothermia.
In the summer, I’ll wear wool socks, synthetic everything else. But I often slip on a cotton T-shirt for sleeping. It’s just more comfortable.
To call certain textiles racist though is just flat stupid
:) I had left my winter wool in NC a couple of yrs ago and froze my behind off, but I survived. Layer, layer, layer. Cotton T, thick cotton plaid shirt, thick cotton sweat shirt. But I love the winter. Burns calories. LOL
