You are absolutely correct. The new nonsense being taught in training cops is producing more violent encounters, not fewer. There is a video of 2 Las Vegas cops arguing with a guy about his getting out of his vehicle. After a few minutes, he pulled a gun and shot at both of them (both were hit but not seriously wounded). The perp was shot and killed. If the cops had not been taught the so-called “de-escalation” routine, they would have tased or pepper sprayed him as soon as he disobeyed their command and dragged him out of the vehicle. Then nobody would have been shot.

There seem to be several Freepers who love second-guessing cops and don’t seem all that bothered when an officer is hurt rather than a thug. Let them try doing a cop’s job for a while where split-second decisions could result in death.

Cops are being told to do something that should get them fired.

Run away from violent offenders.

This is all from the Michael Brown incident onward and makes BLM gleeful.

We have had to stand with those protesters in our face calling us everything but our Christian names and take it. It is galling and only makes cops doubt their leadership.

When I trained in Civil Disturbance with the Guard, demonstrators were not allowed any closer than the tip of your extended riot stick. Any closer, they got stuck.

With police training, not so much. It is the suck and it is because of political correctness and the worry about optics.
