Despite all of the left media complaints about how the GOP “hates science” and is slashing important funding, the Senate recently approved a two billion dollar increase in the budget for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). And given all the diseases running rampant, expanding work on cancer treatments and other advances, that’s probably a fair expenditure, right? That bump represents a 6% increase and brings their budget up to $36.1B.
So what will they be doing with this newfound taxpayer largess? Are they finally on the trail of a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease? Sadly no, but they will be commissioning a bunch of new studies into transgender issues at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars each. The Free Beacon had the story earlier this week.

On second thoughts, may not be a simple answer. Looked up his bio. He sounds pro life and believes in theistic evilution. Another explanation could be that the NIH received a private donation with the condition that they put some toward trans/homo research and produce favorable results.

Gotta justify those bloated Federal paychecks and grants by throwing the trannys a bone. Trannys are in these days. Deny them and you will be pilloried. So $200,000 goes to craptastic tranny studies.

NIH and the FDA are a major waste of money.
In my job I come into contact with their employees. Most are narcissistic a**holes.
My son’s first job was at the NIH. He played basket ball all summer at his work place. As a parent I was a angry becuz I wanted him learn a work ethic. Then one day I go to wake him up and he tells me doesn’t have to go work, the lab director thinks the summer kids need a payed vacation. Now as a taxpayer, I AM LIVID!!!!!!!!
This highlights just how bloated their budget is!
(But the people who work at NIST (National Institute of Standards) are a hoot!!) One of the few agency I like.
