It’s infuriating, but not surprising, that the Daily Mail is not allowing comments on ANY of these articles that report this terrorist is a Refugee. They are usually very open on comments, and mildly censored, so it must have gotten very ugly very fast. I noticed before the censoring and lock that people were saying in vast numbers that, yet again, Trump was right.

Now that I think about it, they must get really ticked that Americans anonymously and boisterously speak their mind on the topic, while UK citizens are in fear of being jailed and fined for speaking out. They probably locked the comments thinking they were saving some fellow citizens from jail.

That’s not significant or particular to this case. The British media always stop online comments once an arrest has been made of an individual suspect, whatever the crime. That’s because the rules on contempt of court and jury prejudice are tight in the UK - if comments were allowed defence lawyers can use them to claim the impossibility of a fair trial. It’s simply standard UK media practice.
