Who’s going to work for him in the future? Go to work for Trump, your career is over and your life will be examined for non-existent ties to Russia and in the course of that, they will look at you for process crimes and tax violations. It’s an attack on Trump, and an effort to force him to submit to the swamp.

Between this, and the self-inflicted wound that’s been the high turnover in the Administration, the answer is: only people who have nothing to lose are taking jobs where you serve at the pleasure of the President and directly implement his policies — not only do you have to have money or an iron-clad pension, you also have to not care if you have a high profile clients or employment with others again. Scaramucci won’t starve, but he’s going to be in the wilderness for a LONG time. Priebus and Bannon have got to be kicking themselves they ever gave working for Trump a shot. Every Assistant Secretary of X everywhere is looking over his shoulder, to say the least of White House staff member.

And it’s not like it’s that people are socially or professional embarrassed to take a Trump appointment. People are still falling all over themselves to get jobs that are insulated from direction by Trump and aren’t subject to be fired by Trump (indendent agency board seats, judgeships, etc.)
