a “neoconservative” is a former liberal that crossed political and philosophical lines during the late 50s, 60s, and perhaps even into the 70s because of the american left’s support of communism. it’s a cold war term that really has no meaning out of it’s historical context.
today, it means, “any conservative that I disagree with”. it’s so hopelessly subjective and rampantly overused as to be basically meaningless.
