President Trumps signature campaign promise, the building of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, will remain on the back burner, the president said Thursday morning.
The wall will come later, Trump told reporters as he prepared to depart for Florida. Were right now renovating large sections of wall, massive sections, making it brand new. Were doing a lot of renovations, were building four different samples of the wall to see which one were going to choose, and the wall is going to be built, it will be funded a little bit later.
Well, we want to get massive border security, and I think both Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer I think they agree with it. We met last night, as you know, Schumer, Pelosi and a whole group and I think were fairly close, but we have to get massive border security.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement Wednesday night that Trump had agreed to support DACA legislation without getting funding for the wall in return.
We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, thats acceptable to both sides, they said.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders pushed back against that claim Wednesday night. While DACA and border security were both discussed, excluding the wall was certainly not agreed to, she said.
Trumps statements Thursday morning made clear, though, that amnesty supporters will get their wish far sooner than supporters of the wall will get theirs.
In a series of tweets Thursday morning, Trump defended his new support for amnesty.
Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? he asked. They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security.
Cake yesterday, cake tomorrow, but never cake today. (Unless you are Nancy and Chuck.)
Yeah right
It seems the swamp drained Trump.
disappointed, but not the least bit surprised.

Maybe he should start holding rallies in San Francisco. Judas.

Best line of the day.
The Weekly Standard is just thrilled. All the NeverTrumpers are having a field day over the rebellion coming from conservatives over Trump’s cave.
I thought that was jam.
Amnesty today, though.
‘Mr President, we think it would be a good idea if you threw away the only mandate you had and allowed America to slip further into Third World squalor.’
‘Done!’

Well, as far as “it seems” is concerned, it seems to me that you don’t understand how Pres. Trump plays 25-dimensional chess.
Have faith, my FRiend. Don’t give up the ship as long as the Skipper is still on deck.
I would view this as a betrayal. This is really no different from the Reagan amnesty deal where they promised to secure the border later, and then did not.
How many times do they need to fall for this before they figure it out?
60 million took a chance in the election. If no win comes from it no win was ever going to. Plan B is to prepare for the worst in the coming years.
And Chuck and Nancy will give us border security, that's "massive" border security.
New wall funding will be a "little bit" latter, Congress is busy working on a DACA amnesty.
Nothing to see here, move along.
I want to see what Trump got in exchange for a delayed wall. If it’s not huge then he just lost a supporter.
We have to give Trump time. It’s only been 9 months. He will start making good on campaign promises before the end of the year, AND with the Republican Congress’ help.
Taxes
Wall
Repeal Obamacare
.........
We need to be patient. Right?
The big beautiful wall, with the big beautiful door, that mexico pays for. That one.
