1. Whatever the eventual outcome is, it would have been worse under any candidate

Don't we ever get over the notion that we should be happy because it could have been worse? We could be happy if it actually got better too couldn't we?

Yeah, I suppose that if and when Trump does something I do not consider conservative, such as amnesty, I will be unhappy but I will still recognize that it could have been worse if the Wicked Witch or Jeb! or someone like that was president instead. That would not make me “happy” or satisfied but I guess it would take the edge off.

I think all this is a bit premature because the one thing we know is that this must get through Congress and there will definitely be GOP members fearful of a primary challenge from the right. They will be less scared if the president has explicitly endorsed a particular bill, so I hope he does not do that but note that this is exactly what Ryan and McConnell are pushing for. They want a WH proposal that gives cover to conservatives voting for it.

If all of the complainers would have voted for Trump he would have won by a landslid then he could have gotten a lot more done a lot faster, it would be better and the complainers still would not be happy because Trump is not a communist.
