One awesome General, Mad Dog Mattis!!!
http://redstatewatcher.com/article.asp?id=94495
During his remarks at the 9/11 Ceremony on Monday, Defense Secretary James Mattis, turned to President Trump and spoke five words that define the U.S. Military, your military does not scare.
Mattis then paused, turned away from the podium, and looked directly at Trump and said:
Mr. President, your military does not scare.
The grit of the speech marks a stark change in tone from military leaders in the Trump administration. Mattis continued:
Our nations troops today are worthy successors of our Revolutionary army at Valley Forge, worthy successors of our valiant sailors at Midway and our Marines at bloody Iwo Jima ... men and women of your armed forces America having signed a blank check to the protection of the American people and to the defense of our constitution, a check payable with their very lives, your military stands ready and confident to defend this country, this experiment in democracy.

“The reason, it’s freezin’
Just announced today: SecDef Mattis will visit Minot next week, as part of a tour of US nuclear facilities and units. He’ll meet with B-52 crews and spend some time at a Minuteman III launch control facility.
Wonder who he’s sending a message to?

Stay Awhile
September 13, 2017
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
Hebrews 11:13
During a discussion of The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, a teenager said he prefers his stories in books rather than movies. When asked why, the young man replied, With a book, I can stay there as long as I want. There is something to be said for the power of lingering in a book, especially the Bible, and inhabiting the stories there.
Hebrews 11, often called the faith chapter of the Bible, mentions nineteen people by name. Each one traveled a road of difficulty and doubt, yet chose to obey God. All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth (v. 13).
How easy it is to rush through our Bible reading without pondering the people and events in the text. Our self-imposed time schedule robs us of going deeper into Gods truth and His plan for our lives. Yet, when we are willing to stay awhile, we find ourselves caught up in the real-life dramas of people like us who chose to stake their lives on Gods faithfulness.
When we open Gods Word, its good to recall that we can stay as long as we want.
Father in heaven, thank You for Your written Word and the examples of people who lived by faith. Help us to follow You as they did.
Linger in Gods Word and you'll find stories of faith.
Hebrews 11 provides examples of how authentic faith leads to a changed life. Belief and action produce acts of courage and perseverance. As we ponder the deep and impressive faith our spiritual ancestors demonstrated through their actions, it encourages us to follow in their footsteps. The examples of those who have preceded usthose who lived as foreigners and strangers on earth (v. 13)help us to fix our eyes on Jesus (12:2).
As you reflect on todays reading, how are you inspired in your walk with Christ?

We had many times without tv or internet when they were both via satellite and it certainly had me climbing the walls. LOL! But she’s got her smartphone and that helps a little.

We have fields full of corn that’ll be ready to harvest in a few weeks. It isn’t very pretty right now since it’s all brown.
It’ll be worse once it’s harvested because those empty fields are a bit depressing.
But there’s next year when they’ll be pretty and green with soybeans. :-)

Howdy there, teenie!
The weather is dreary, damp, and chilly today. Tow more days of this and the weekend looks to be splendid.
I hope the lightning from the thunderstorms in your area didn’t cause any problems. Do NOT need any more fires!

Close, but the correct reply is
Freezin's the reason
Little tidbit: Roughly 70% of the world's durham wheat supply (used to make pasta) is grown within a 200 mile radius of Minot.
