Briefly: for the record
1. My previous comment about the percentage (and absolute number) of white Protestant Christians who became members and leaders within white supremacist organizations was never merely my “assertion”.
2. Instead, I am relying upon hundreds of FBI files I have obtained through FOIA requests about the persons who created those organizations and who became members and leaders within those organizations. Many of those FBI files contain very detailed biographical information about the individuals involved.
3. In addition, the literature published or recommended by white supremacist organizations (i.e. their newsletters and their pamphlets and other material which they sold) and even their incorporation documents and bylaws make it indisputable what type of persons they wanted as members and supporters.
4. If we accept the principle that we should be concerned about ANY movement or ANY organization in our country’s history which appeals to, OR is predominantly composed of, some specific demographic group (i.e. a specific race or religion, or which explicitly excludes certain entire categories of human beings-—such as women, blacks, asians, Hispanics, Catholics, Jews, etc.) — THEN why should we single out for discussion (or concern) the one group which has the LEAST numbers or percentage?
5. In other words, why not focus our attention and concern upon whatever group or movement contains the greatest number of persons associated as members and supporters and endorsers if we think that they have some noxious influence upon our national life?
6. In THAT context, when I was originally asked, “Why are so many Jews leftists?” — I responded by asking why we should focus upon Jews? What is the underlying reason for singling them out for our exclusive attention?
