He said he expects to have an MRI scan taken on Monday.
'So far, all indications are very good.'
The tumor, known as glioblastoma, is a particularly aggressive brain tumor affecting adults. It is of the same category of cancer that led to the death of another Senate icon, Ted Kennedy, who died in 2009 at age 77.
My best friend from my Air Force days passed away from glioblastoma two years ago. He lived five years with the disease, but he was the exception, not the rule. Had a fantastic team of doctors at Vanderbilt; additionally, my friend was supremely fit and a man of tremendous faith.
While I find McCain’s politics, treatment of fellow Republicans and sabotage of the GOP agenda to be repulsive, I do wish him well in his fight against glioblastoma. It is a truly terrible illness, and the prognosis is usually quite grim—even with aggressive treatment, life expectancy is normally no more than a year to 15 months.
The real ray of hope in current research is use of a modified version of the polio virus to go after glioblastoma. Results of medical trials at Duke have been extremely encouraging; have no idea if McCain is receiving that treatment.
All paid for by Obamacare!!! :)
‘The results are excellent, I’ve got more energy than ever’
“They couldn’t hit an elephant at this distance.”
A "pretty good" prognosis for this kind of cancer is what, an extra 3 months over the expected 6? I'm happy for him, but the truth remains that he should resign his seat.
Wasn’t he accused of leaking the Trump Russian Dossier mere days before the cancer was announced? What happened to all of that?
advances in medical treatments aren’t always such good things
Those types of tumors are extremely aggressive and I hope it kills the traitorous bastard ASAP!
Use that energy to spend time with your family and please, please, leave America alone!
Good news for McCain. Now go retire and live out your days as a private citizen under the rules you exempted yourself from as a politician, worthless RINO.
‘The results are excellent, I’ve got more energy than ever’: Senator John McCain, 81, says
Certainly not the first time he has lied to the public.
Just die already..
Sad to hear that.
I just wish he would resign and go away.
>>>He underwent treatment including radiation therapy at home<<<
Really, I had no idea they could just come to your House to do that.
I always had to drive to and from my Chemotherapy Treatments even when it made me feel like crap..
It must be good to be John McCain, Public Servant.
