Member of my Family and a neighbor own waterfront Mobile Homes in St. James City. Just heard NO Damage.
Thank God Again!
It was supposed to be a disaster??

How many times does “the little boy”(msm), cry “Wolf”?

For my niece and her family in central Florida, this is a disaster. Her home was completely flooded. Her backyard is now a real lake, several feet deep. Fortunately they stayed with other family members during the storm. This will be a doozy of a clean up for her and others near her.

Seriously? If Irma hadn't spent so much time along the Cuban coast, it would have been far worse for Florida. And the NHC nailed the forecast for Harvey, including the catastrophic flooding.

Hurricanes are fickle. By the time you know just how bad it's going to be, it's too late to react if things are really bad. Yeah, the media hypes effects, but that does not change the underlying reality of the difficulty with intensity forecasts.

It most certainly could have been as bad as forecast.

See post 722 for the factors that came into play to help dimish the storm and then thank God for it instead of criticizing so much.
