America has not had a hurricane in 12 years.
I remember we used to have 12-14 hurricanes a SEASON!
With 2-3 of those being major and hitting the SE somewhere.
Houses in Florida used to be single story concrete block FOR A REASON.
In those very good and very quiet 12 years, America got lazy.
A massive housing bubble building crap house in places that never should have a house
Homeowner not keeping flood or homeowners insurance because it is just throwing money away
Builders ignoring housing codes and best design practices as it doesnt matter anymore
Building houses on barrier islands etc.
But yeah. It’s climate change.
I don’t have much patience for people in moving down to Florida and developing there, in a Hurricane zone, then having the nerve of being ‘surprised’ and ‘shocked’ when a Hurricane comes.
Well, Ovomit was pResident for 8 of those years and he is solely responsible for making sure it didn't happen.
My cousins carried full coverage on their cars for years..Let’s do basic and save money..Three months later their jeep went over a cliff...Destroyed and no way to pay for new one..Yeah,go cheap, save money and pray nothing happens....Good way to live...Wonder how many Floridians will have money to rebuild.....
Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey in 2012, which was 5 years ago.
While I agree that the “climate change” harpies are using this year as their poster child to prove their point.....Hurricane Ike was a pretty intense storm that caused a lot of damage in 2008.
